Virtualized Infrastructure: NetApp technology
The company belonging to the El Corte Inglés Group manages more than 2.5 petabytes of virtualized infrastructure at NetApp in its four data centers in Spain.
El Corte Inglés Group specialized in the provision of technology solutions, has based its Cloud Data Center solution on NetApp technology, with whom it has been working since 2010.
The first solutions acquired from NetApp were destined to the data centers of Madrid and Blimea (Asturias).
This was “a big leap in the support model and provision of our storage infrastructures,” says Julio César Candil, director of Continuous Support & Cloud Datacenter of El Corte Inglés.
A few years later, in 2014, and due to “the success of the solution in our data centers in Madrid and Asturias, we also decided to implement NetApp booths to support our Cloud Data Center service in our mission-critical data center built in Murcia, “adds Candil.
NetApp Storage virtualized infrastructure is a vital part of the Cloud Data Center solution that provides its customers, regardless of size and needs, with the possibility of having the services of a mission-critical data center.
All of this within a secure environment, “using all the available capacities (client infrastructure, virtualized infrastructure of El Corte Inglés, or public clouds infrastructure); Providing solutions and services that ensure the availability of information systems that support the business of our customers, “explains José I. Vaquero, Business Development Cloud Data Center Computer El Corte Inglés.
El Corte Inglés manages more than 2.5 petabytes of storage at NetApp in its four data centers hos (Madrid, Asturias, Barcelona and Murcia), with FAS systems that increase performance while reducing the cost and complexity of its virtualized infrastructures.
It also uses the version of NetApp’s Data ONTAP system, which allows for clustered configurations, favoring a level of non-disruptive operations with great scalability, ensuring the high availability of its solutions.
In addition, NetApp technology has provided other advantages such as: centralized storage management across all data centers, full integration of Cloud Data Center solutions, optimized space utilization and power consumption, and integration with backup solutions.
