DCD LATAM Awards rewards the best data centers in Latin America

DatacenterDynamics held last October 1 the third edition of Datacenter Dynamics Awards Latin America in Mexico City, in order to recognize innovation, leadership and differentiation of Latin American companies in the design and construction of data centers. The award ceremony took place in the village hall Ragga Antara (Polanco) where more than 300 industry professionals gathered data centers to celebrate in a relaxed atmosphere Excellence in the sector.

The Data Processing Center (DPC) or Data Centers are special rooms equipped with mechanisms electrical, environmental and fire control where processing systems, communication and data storage are hosted.
Today his image is associated with large facilities used by operators of online services, telecommunications or banking, however DPCs usually tend to be more modest facilities as those managed by the Computing Service.
Currently the Computing Service manages and used to provide services (Corporate Applications, Inet Services, Communications, …) Two data centers with nearly 150 m2 of total area. Both data centers operate together and are connected by direct optical fiber links. Systems and critical data is replicated between the two data centers.

Leadership in the Public Sector: INFOTEC (Mexico).

Innovation in Outsourcing: ChileCompra (Chile).

Improved data center energy efficiency: Telefonica Empresas (Argentina).

Innovation in IT Optimization: Ternium (Argentina).

Special recognition data center team of the year: INFOTEC (Mexico).

During the awards ceremony, also the award for outstanding contribution to the industry, which went to Sergio Rosengaus, CEO of KIO Networks was granted. It’s been a very hotly contested awards with 30 nominations from 24 companies from 8 countries. Along with the winners, were finalists renowned companies in Latin America, as in the case of Arsat, Caja de Ande, Banco Santander, Colombia BT, Novartis, Bogota Free Trade Zone or Free Zone West.
